Understanding the 3 Meta errors you'll hit first when publishing

"(#2446603) Media not owned by the ad account", the missing-bid error, and the Page-not-eligible-for-messaging error — explained in plain language, with fixes.

"Media not owned by the ad account" — why it happens

This usually appears when you uploaded the photo or video under a different ad account, or reused an asset uploaded for another Page. Meta only allows media that already "belongs to" the account you're publishing from.

The fix: re-upload the photo or video directly into the ad account you're actually using, rather than referencing it from elsewhere.

The missing-bid error with the "lowest cost with bid cap" strategy

If you choose a bid strategy that caps what you'll pay but forget to enter the actual number, Meta rejects the entire ad set with a cryptic error code.

The fix: either enter a specific maximum bid, or switch to letting Meta optimise for the lowest cost without a cap.

The Page isn't eligible to receive ad messages

For campaigns with a messaging objective, your Page must meet certain technical conditions (messaging enabled, no active restrictions). Missing any of them gets the ad rejected the moment you publish.

Adly checks these conditions before you hit publish, rather than letting you discover the problem after building the whole campaign.
